Proposed Cleveland offshore wind farm seeks suppliers

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The proposed Icebreaker wind farm in Lake Erie still doesn’t have a green light, but that hasn’t stopped the developer from lining up suppliers.
Earlier this month, the Lake Erie Energy Development Corp. put two phases of the proposed 6-turbine wind farm out to bid, said LEEDCo. Lorry Wagner.
One was for the manufacture and installation of the underwater cable that will connect the offshore turbines and bring the electricity they generate to land.
The other is for the modular substation that will take the electricity from the cable and transfer it to an existing Cleveland Public Power substation.
